A World Heritage Site which is the home of the 11th Duke of Marlborough and was the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. Built by Vanburgh for the 1st Duke in 1705, it is set in "Capability Brown" landscaped parklands and wonderful gardens. Fine furniture, tapestries and paintings set in magnificent gilded state rooms, and the Churchill Exhibition.

Park is open daily from 9am (last admission at 4:45pm or dusk). Pleasure Gardens Cafe is open from 10:30am - 3:30 pm serving hot food and drinks!

The busy crossroads at the heart of Oxford is known as Carfax, this is the ancient heart of Saxon Oxford, where the four roads from North, South, East and West met. The prime attraction is Carfax Tower, all that remains of the 13th Century St Martin's Church, the east side of which can be climbed for fine views of the city.
